Ant is a dedicated advocate for youth and community development in New Zealand. He currently serves as the Programme Director of Openground at Westlake Boys High School. This innovative program fosters entrepreneurial skills in Year 13 students, bridging academic theory with practical business experience. Ant is passionate about equipping young entrepreneurs with the knowledge, confidence, and resilience to succeed in their ventures.
Following a career spanning over 20 years in strategy, retail, and technology-enabled business, since 2008 Ant has managed a portfolio of charities and foundations, many of which are closely aligned with his passions for youth development and sports. This includes establishing and managing well recognised scholarship programs to nurture the next generation of New Zealand sports talent. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to creating lasting, positive impacts in communities.
In addition to his work in education, Ant manages the Takapuna Rugby Community Foundation. Established to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Takapuna Rugby Club—his former club—the Foundation is focused on strengthening the club’s legacy and preparing it to celebrate its centenary in 2034 as a thriving community hub
Ant’s experience in the sports sector includes roles as a rugby player in New Zealand and overseas, over a decade coaching junior sports teams and governance positions supporting youth and athlete development.
Beyond his professional contributions, Ant remains actively engaged in sports and recreation. He plays competitive tennis and table tennis, recently completed a triathlon, and enjoys a round of golf whenever time allows
Based in Auckland, Ant holds an MBA from Trinity College Dublin Business School and continues to leverage his expertise to inspire and empower others.
